Please stay active this time if you wish to rejoin.Quote from: Kev_Hernandez on September 22, 2011, 01:58:44 AM

On the topic of radio codes, do you know whether Paramedics/EMS use 10 codes??? And whether EMS are different than Fire Department-Based Medics.

Many of the codes ARPD uses are based off of LAPD's codes, which is obviously located in Los Angeles, California, United States Of America. In California, many of the Hundred Codes are based off the actual Penal Codes, such as major crimes like homicide and kidnapping. 10 codes are slightly different though, and can vary widely across counties, cities, and Departments/Agencies. Overall though, they generally keep the common ones the same, like 10-4 meaning "I copy/I understand". Often times Police will even have a 10 or 11 code for telling Dispatch that an Ambulance is needed on-scene.Quote from: Bradley_Hood on September 20, 2011, 07:40:36 PMIn California, at my department we have firefighter paramedics, that run transport ambulances. We use the same radio chatter as the firefighters. As for contracted out EMS which is only about 10miles away, AMR(American Medical Response) they use the same frequency as us which is RRU1 for there call out channel. In California fire department and EMS work closely together, because every fire engine is staffed with at least one paramedic and they tend to arrive on scene before AMR.

Typically on radios calls, call is received on RRU1. Then dispatch(Perris) will then assign a designated channel for use. Typically our designated channel is support 11. So it works something like this.
*Beep, Beep, Beep* Medical aid, Engine 621 Medical 624, Medical aid patient complaining of abdominal pains respond 1234 Smith Ave. Utilize support 11 for communication.
Then we respond and do our thing. Pretty much the same with contracted out EMS however radio traffic does is slightly different however still no 10 codes. 10 Codes are not used in EMS, AMR, or fire departments.

Extremely recommended. Worked with him before, has done a great job. Pleasure to work with, listens to command, willing to learn and role play.

The applicant claimed to use another account "brother's one", since his account got banned, and no response on unban request. -Quoted from the applicant on "brother's account".
