Commissioners, Chiefs, Training officers. I am submitting this training information topic for your approval. Upon approval I hope for this topic to be moved into a training thread. Thank you for your time.

Below are different types of personal protective equipment(PPEs) used in the firefighting world. Below you will see the uses and reasons behind the equipment.


In the above picture: Structure firefighting PPE's, boots, pants, coat, helmet, fire resistant hood, gloves(not shown).
Also in the picture: SCBA, SCBA mask, radio.
These are the typical PPE's for the following: Fire(Of any type, except vegetation fires), Traffic collision, HAZMAT, certain rescues, certain medical aid calls.


In the above picture: Vegetation fire PPE's, Vegetation firefighting boots(like hiking boots), Nomex pants, Nomex shirt, vegetation helmet, googles, gloves, and ACSI safety glasses.
Also in the picture: Backpack containing: Fusses, water(camel pack) LOTS OF DRINKING WATER, medical equipment, firefighting brass, food, spare clothes, emergency survival gear, and a fire shelter(only protects from radiant heat, not direct flame.)

Used primarily in vegetation fires, occasionally used in a, "hike-in medical."
