It's called clearing an intersection. It's a basic skill learned in EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course). Fire, Medical, and Police learn it all alike. I call it doing a job correctly.

Now when clearing intersections isn't learned, stuff like this happens.

Utility = Brush/Equipment Car
Bus = Mass Casuality Unit
Nah, I do not foresee a mass casualty event in Argonath anytime soon, and if we did we have 16 ambulances statewide, 2 medical transport helicopters, and 4 fire rescue choppers that can be utilized in medical transport. I think we are set for mass causality.

The SWAT truck can be a better looking Rescue Equipment truck. If we get rid of the ambulances then we can keep the Utility.

Get rid of the Utility and replace with red SWAT Enforcer. What's with the bus? We also don't need THAT many ambulances.

What is the difference?

Over the past few months, I have seen these be used interchangeably and sometimes improperly for the wrong reasons. Let me explain...

Assuming that the Argonath RPG Fire Department (ARFD) is based on the model of what the Argonath RPG Police Department (ARPD) is, the ARFD refers to the entirety of the fire service in the Argonath RPG community. This means that Volunteers, Cadets, Firefighters and up are all referred to as the ARFD. Now when you talk about the Vice City Fire Department (FDVC), San Andreas Fire Department (SAFD), or Liberty City Fire Department (FDLC), they refer to the actual organization that consists of what are known as career firefighters that have applied and gained rank within the Department in each location. This means that anyone off the street is default a member of the ARFD, but must apply to FDVC, SAFD, or FDLC to become recognized in their respective locations.

In short:
All people are ARFD.
Not all people are FDVC/SAFD/FDLC.
FDVC/SAFD/FDLC members are ARFD
ARFD members are NOT necessarily FDVC/SAFD/FDLC.

And that, boys and girls, is the difference between ARFD and FDVC/SAFD/FDLC.

Now as for ARFD and EMS...

Quote from: SugarD on February 28, 2011, 10:08:20 AMSo no one gets confused, EMS is not affiliated with ARFD...The difference between ARFD Medics and EMS Medics is that ARFD Medics are FD-based, and are part of the "Rescue" side of the ARFD. EMS Medics are purely medical workers contracted by the government-owned hospitals with a primary focus on dealing with medical situations. As first responders, ARFD still deals with medical calls, just as EMS does...

I still don't understand your logic. It CAN be called LAPD's phonetic alphabet, and it can also be call Sacramento Police's phonetic alphabet, or San Diego Sheriff's phonetic alphabet. They all use the same thing, but the term of a certain PD's alphabet doesn't mean it's not correct, so I fail to see how you want to defend it by saying it is incorrect.

Also, according to Webster's Dictionary (http://www.websters-online-dictionary.org/definitions/LAPD+phonetic+alphabet?cx=partner-pub-0939450753529744%3Av0qd01-tdlq&cof=FORID%3A9&ie=UTF-8&q=LAPD+phonetic+alphabet&sa=Search#922), the term 'LAPD Phonetic Alphabet' is a valid term. There is no proper name for the set of alphabet you are describing. It's like saying the plant that people know as the 'Tea Tree' in the western world can also be known as the 'Narrow-leaved Paperbark' somewhere else. You also can't beat a dictionary.

More then half in law enforcement in the United States and I would say half in the fire department.

I do not see how I was corrected. I was just stating that LAPD uses these phonetics, therefore it is their phonetic alphabet, therefore my original post was in fact correct and is supported by your statement.

Whats wrong with it o.O
Read the application instructions again. It's something small, but compare it to other applications and you may see why.

Dont see it.
Go here ( http://www.arfd.argonathrpg.com/forum/index.php?board=11.0 ) and stare at it for a LONG while. If you still cannot find it, keep staring. Once you find it, you'll be able to tell how we are serious about formatting.
